Are you leaving dog feces unattended?
Daily walks are essential for dogs to stay healthy. While owners take their dogs for walks according to their lifestyles, recently, dog feces have been frequently found on roads, sidewalks, and in parks.
The city established the "Inagi City Ordinance for Keeping the City Clean" in fiscal year 2000 with the aim of contributing to the securing and maintenance of a safe and comfortable living environment. It prohibits littering and leaving dog waste unattended.
Yellow Chalk Operation
As part of the city's efforts to address the issue of dog feces left on the streets, when dog feces are found abandoned on the road, they are outlined with yellow chalk to make them stand out, and the date and time of discovery are written to alert the dog owners. This initiative is called the "Yellow Chalk Operation."
Chalk is distributed to those who wish at the Living Environment Division, Hirao Branch Office, and Wakabadai Branch Office.
A 'One' Point Before Going for a Walk
- Please be sure to take your dog’s waste home with you.
When your pet defecates during a walk, it is the owner's responsibility to properly take it home. - Please have your pet use the toilet inside the house before going for a walk.
If you happen to urinate on the street or utility poles, please wash it away immediately with water.
About Penalties
If dog feces are left unattended, based on the citizen ordinance for keeping the town clean, you may be subject to guidance, recommendations, orders, public disclosure, and penalties (a fine of up to 2,000 yen or beautification activities designated by the mayor).
Fulfill your responsibilities as a pet owner and always clean up after your pet's waste.
