Beware of illegal waste collection companies!
Illegal Waste Collection Businesses
Recently, flyers stating 'We will collect unwanted items for free' and 'Notice of free collection of home appliances, metals, and industrial products' have been circulating in the Oshitate area of the city.
When people requested disposal from such waste collection businesses, consultations have been received at Consumer Affairs Centers nationwide reporting cases such as, "I thought it was free, but after loading the items into the vehicle, I was charged a high fee," "I was charged more than twice the amount initially quoted," and "The items collected by the business were illegally dumped."
Furthermore, if you hand over your unwanted items to such waste collection businesses, proper recycling may not be conducted, which could lead to environmental pollution and illegal dumping both domestically and internationally.
The city provides guidance to illegal collection agencies as necessary, but we also ask residents to dispose of unwanted items from their homes properly in accordance with the city's household waste disposal rules.
