Individuals aged 40 and over who are enrolled in health insurance and have been certified as needing care due to age-related diseases that fall under Long-Term Care Insurance ( Specified Diseases ) can utilize Long-Term Care Insurance services.
Note: Diseases caused by changes in the body and mind due to aging are included, and traumatic diseases are not included.
List of Specific Diseases
- Cancer【Terminal Stage】
This applies only to cases where a physician has determined, based on generally accepted medical knowledge, that there is no prospect of recovery. - Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (commonly known as ALS)
- Ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament
- Osteoporosis with fractures
- Dementia in Early Old Age
- Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Corticobasal Degeneration, and Parkinson's Disease [Parkinson's Disease Related Disorders]
- Spinocerebellar Degeneration
- Spinal Canal Stenosis
- Progeria
- Multiple System Atrophy
- Diabetic neuropathy, diabetic nephropathy, and diabetic retinopathy
- Cerebrovascular Disease
- Obstructive Arteriosclerosis
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
- Osteoarthritis with significant deformity of both knee joints or hip joints
