QuestionPlease tell me the procedures when a pension recipient passes away.
Response
Pension can be received up to the month of death. When a person receiving a pension dies, if there is any unpaid pension remaining as unpaid benefits, it can be claimed and received on behalf of the deceased by their surviving family members who shared the same livelihood.
Required Items and Consultation Desk
The required documents vary depending on the type of Pension the deceased person was enrolled in or receiving, as well as the status of the bereaved family.

・Note: In the case where a person receiving only the Disability Basic Pension, Survivors' Basic Pension, or Widow's Pension has passed away, a notification can also be made to the City Hall Insurance and Pension Division.
・Note: If a person who was a member of the mutual aid association has passed away, it may be necessary to notify each mutual aid association.
