Notice of Discontinuation of the Four-Component Combined Vaccine Production
Due to the introduction of the pentavalent vaccine (Note: 1) as a routine vaccination from April 1, 2024, the manufacture and sale of the quadrivalent vaccine (Note: 2) will be discontinued.
The DPT-IPV vaccine can only be administered while supplies last. If you have received the DPT-IPV vaccine but have not completed all four doses, please get vaccinated as soon as possible.

About Eligible Recipients, Number of Vaccinations, and Vaccination Intervals
Eligible Vaccination Recipients
Children aged from 2 months to 7 years and 6 months
First round of vaccinations (1st dose, 2nd dose, 3rd dose)
Standard number of vaccinations and intervals: 3 doses administered at intervals of 20 to 56 days
1st Additional Vaccination (4th Dose)
Standard number of vaccinations and intervals: One vaccination between 12 to 18 months after completing the initial series (1st to 3rd dose)
However, although the standard interval from the completion of the initial third dose to the additional vaccination is 12 months or more, according to the Vaccination Implementation Regulations, vaccination is possible if an interval of 6 months or more has passed.
Notes
For routine vaccinations, the same type of vaccine is generally administered the required number of times. However, if the vaccine stock runs out and the number of doses for the DPT-IPV vaccine and Hib vaccine are matched, it is possible to switch to the pentavalent vaccine for vaccination.
At that time, it will be necessary to replace the preliminary examination form for the DPT-IPV vaccine and Hib vaccine with the preliminary examination form for the DPT-IPV-Hib vaccine. Please bring your Maternal and Child Health Handbook to the Health Center. After confirming your vaccination history, we will provide you with the preliminary examination form and other documents.
If the number of doses for the DPT-IPV vaccine and Hib vaccine do not match, and it is not possible to switch to the DPT-IPV-HepB vaccine for vaccination, please contact the medical institution where the vaccination is administered or the Health Center (042-378-3421).
