Regarding the extension of the regular vaccination period for MR1 Phase 2 and Rubella Phase 5

Regarding the combined vaccine for measles and rubella (MR vaccine), for those whose regular vaccination period ends at the end of fiscal year 2024, if they were unable to receive the vaccine during fiscal year 2024 due to a supply shortage, the regular vaccination period will be extended by two years.

Eligible persons for the extension of the regular vaccination period

Note: For those who could not be vaccinated during the regular vaccination period

Type Eligible Persons for Extension Vaccine to be used
MR1 Phase

Those who turn 2 years old during fiscal year 2024 (born between April 2, 2022, and April 1, 2023)

MR vaccine
MR2 Phase Those who are first graders in elementary school in FY2025 (born between April 2, 2018, and April 1, 2019)

MR vaccine

Rubella 5th Phase

Men born between April 2, 1962, and April 1, 1979, who underwent antibody testing between April 1, 2014, and March 31, 2025, and were found to have insufficient rubella antibodies (criteria include HI method 8 times or less, EIA method less than 6.0, etc.)

MR Vaccine or Rubella-only Vaccine

 

Note: For Vaccination in the Rubella 5th Phase, it is possible to receive either the MR Vaccine or the Rubella-only Vaccine. Please consult with your medical institution to decide which vaccine you prefer. Also, depending on the supply status of the MR Vaccine, there may be cases where you need to wait for the desired vaccine to be stocked before vaccination, so please understand this in advance.

Vaccination procedure

For MR1 Phase 2

Make a vaccination appointment by phone at a designated medical institution (you can check the link below).

(Belongings)

  • Maternal and Child Health Handbook (showing vaccination history)
  • Pre-vaccination questionnaire (please use the one previously sent to you.)

If you do not have the pre-vaccination questionnaire from Inagi City due to reasons such as moving in or loss, please bring your Maternal and Child Health Handbook and come to the Inagi City Health Center. We will confirm your vaccination history and provide you with the pre-vaccination questionnaire.

Rubella 5th Phase

Make a vaccination appointment by phone at a designated medical institution (please check below).

Please note that designated medical institutions may be subject to change without prior notice.

(What to bring)

  • Identification document (My Number Card, etc.)
  • Document indicating that you have undergone a rubella antibody test and have low antibodies

Example) "Rubella antibody test receipt (copy for the individual)" and "documents that show low antibody levels against rubella"
