Regarding Disciplinary Actions for Public Elementary School Teachers in This City

Recently, a teacher working at a public elementary school in this city received a disciplinary action issued by the appointing authority, the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education, and was dismissed from their position.

The reason for the disciplinary action is an attempted upskirt voyeurism of a woman sitting in the seat facing the offender on an Odakyu Electric Railway train on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

We deeply apologize to the children, students, Parents or Guardians, and all citizens for this extremely serious misconduct.

It is absolutely unacceptable that a teacher, who holds an important responsibility for the healthy growth of children, engaged in such conduct. We deeply regret this and solemnly acknowledge that it has severely damaged trust in school education.

The Inagi City Board of Education, immediately after obtaining the above information, questioned the teacher involved and proceeded with the investigation in cooperation with the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education and police investigative agencies.

As a result, it has been confirmed that there was no harm to any students and that no hidden cameras were installed within Shiroyama Elementary School.

Following the issuance of this disciplinary action, we will devote our efforts to the mental care of the students at the relevant elementary school, and once again, we will fully commit to enforcing service discipline and maintaining strict order in all municipal schools.
