Kampo medicine plays an important role in modern medical care by improving symptoms that are difficult to treat with Western medicine and addressing the complex symptoms of Older Adults, as well as serving as complementary medicine to Western medical treatments. The effects of Kampo medicine, which is made by combining multiple crude drugs, work differently from new pharmaceutical drugs. This lecture will clearly explain the role of Kampo medicine in modern medical care, the differences from new drugs, and the scientific evidence of its clinical effects.
