There are over 100,000 types of Japanese surnames (family names), and given names are even more diverse. This situation presents a rare variety even on a global scale. The overall picture is not even grasped by the government, and in fact, no one truly knows it, which has led to various stories being circulated. Here, I will specifically introduce the various realities that I have clarified through investigating and analyzing 8 million actual cases.
