Medical expenses for injuries sustained due to the actions of a third party, such as in a traffic accident, should generally be fully covered by the perpetrator. However, if compensation is delayed, you can temporarily receive treatment under national health insurance. Please note that national health insurance will later bill the perpetrator, so be sure to report this to the Insurance and Pension Division at City Hall.
Please note that if a settlement has been reached or if you have received treatment costs from the perpetrator before notifying the Insurance and Pension Division, you will not be able to receive treatment under the National Health Insurance.
