QuestionI am struggling with medical expenses. I would like to know about refunds for medical expenses and other related information.

Response

When the out-of-pocket medical expenses become high within the same month, if you apply and are approved, the amount exceeding the out-of-pocket maximum (the limit differs for those under 70 and those 70 and older) will be provided as high-cost medical care benefits. Additionally, a high-cost medical care application form will be sent to the head of the household approximately three months after the medical treatment.
Additionally, by using the My Number Health Insurance Card when visiting medical institutions or by presenting the "Certificate of Application of the Maximum Amount" or the "Certificate of Application of the Maximum Amount and Reduction of Standard Burden" together with the qualification confirmation document, you can limit the monthly payment amount at each medical institution to the out-of-pocket maximum in advance. (Costs not covered by insurance, such as room charges during hospitalization, will be charged separately.)
